Argon Oxygen De-carburization Furnaces (AOD)
Along with the rapid changes occurring in the technology, Steel Industry has also been emerging by producing almost 75% of the world's steel by implementing the process of AOD. The process of AOD is an effective and financially feasible way of producing steel with minimal loss of all the valuable material, especially steel. Keeping this aspect in view, Argon Oxygen De-carburization Furnaces have been developed that melts scrap or raw material in an induction or Electric furnace to decarburize or refine it later.
- Other material that can be produced using this furnace are silicon steels, cobalt base alloys, nickle base alloys and many more
- Sturdily engineered for achieving better results in refractory lining
- Oxygen being used is mixed with nitrogen and argon to be injected via submerged tuyeres
- Process of decarburization reduces unwanted oxidation of valuable elements like Chromium
