Electric ARC Furnaces
Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) is widely used in the making of steel to ensure the application of low voltage of electric energy and high current. This allows easy melting and refining of charge material. The offered furnace is considered to be a batch furnace that includes a refractory lined vessel to offer a way from which electrodes can easily enter the furnace. However, in this modern world, steel melting shops uses mezzanine furnace installation in which the furnace sits over a level above the floor of such shops.
- Depending upon the requirement, the size of these furnace can vary in size ranging from smaller units to the larger one (form one to 400 tonnes of capacity)
- Temperature can range between 1800 to 3000 degree Celsius, based upon the requirement
- Charge material are directly exposed to the furnace terminals
- Mechanism renders independent elevating and lowering of each electrode
